‘Tis December

In my family Christmas doesn’t start until the second week of December. Why? My Dad’s birthday is at the start of December so we celebrate that and then we are allowed to think about Christmas.

I’m going to be putting up a list of cookbooks soon that I think would make great gifts. If you have a particular person who loves cooking or food and you’re not sure what would suit them then drop me a message in the comments and I’ll try and help out.

I’m also going to be doing some Christmas cookbook reviews to help you all find great recipes for the festive season, so keep your eyes out for those.

If you are looking for cookbooks for gifts, or just as a treat for yourself, for the rest of the day The Book Depository has a great sale on cookbooks including a few that I’ve had my eye on like The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook by Deb Perelman, Donna Hay’s The New Classics and Scandinavian Baking by Trine Hahnemann.

Peas with Honey

I eat my peas with honey;
I’ve done it all my life.
It makes the peas taste funny,
But it keeps them on the knife.
